What is Lasya's OhMaRgazhi all about?

Margazhi, also known as Margashirsha, is the ninth month of the Hindu lunar calendar, typically spanning from mid-December to mid-January. In South Indian culture, especially in Tamil Nadu, this month is imbued with significant cultural and spiritual meaning. OMR (Old Mahabalipuram Road) is a vibrant hub in Chennai, where people from diverse cultures and communities coexist harmoniously.

In celebration of this rich cultural heritage, Lasya and FOMRRA have united to bring the essence of Margazhi to OMR, giving rise to OhMaRgazhi. This initiative aims to immerse the community in the authentic experiences and traditions of Margazhi without having the need to travel all the way to the core city of Chennai.

Lasya, an initiative by the Ramaniyam Group, promotes art and culture in South Chennai through diverse events, establishing itself as a cultural hub along Old Mahabalipuram Road.

FOMRRA (Federation of OMR Resident Associations) is a community organization in Chennai that unites residents along the Old Mahabalipuram Road to address local issues and promote sustainable development.
